AIMS OF THE LIST

The Group Psychotherapy online discussion forum aims to develop and promote group psychotherapy and other group work modalities, through the exchange of ideas between professionals in this field from all over the world.

This forum started inĀ 1995 (one of the earliest list serve discussion lists on the Internet) and includes about 400 members from more than 30 countries.

MEMBERS OF THE FORUM

Participation in this group is recommended for group psychotherapists, group analysts, psychiatrists, psychologists, psycho-dramatists, social workers, art therapists, organizational consultants, and other mental health professionals who are interested in group work and group psychotherapy.

TOPICS FOR DISCUSSION

These may include:

* Research in group psychotherapy
* Working with special populations in groups
* The processes and stages in group work
* Different models of group psychotherapy
* The roles of the leader and co-leader in the group
* Notification and discussion of conferences and workshops
* Resources for the group psychotherapist
* Any other issue that relates to group therapy

The discussion also includes reflections on the group process of the forum, interpersonal interactions between the forum members, and sharing experiences from leading groups, participating in groups, workshops and conferences, and life in general.
